Treasure Island Development Authority
As director and former Board President, Claudine participates in developing policies and guidelines for the redevelopment of Treasure Island. The project has received national acclaim as a model of sustainable development, with 6,000 units of housing, a new marina, conference facilities as well as areas for wetlands and organic farming. At the same time, almost half of the island has been preserved for open space and recreation.
RENEW SF, Director and Board Chair
RENEW SF is a neighborhood planning organization. Claudine organizes the outreach and consensus-building efforts for the Columbus Transportation Study and other neighborhood projects in the Northeast and waterfront areas of San Francisco.
San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR), Advisory Council
During her service as a director of the board for three terms, Claudine’s primary focus included the launch of the Economic Policy Committee as well as to improve the financial health of the organization. For over seven years, she coordinated the annual Bay Discovery Cruise, an event that has become a significant part of SPUR’s fundraising program.
North Beach Citizens, Director
Working with NBC’s staffs and board, Claudine promotes awareness of and builds support for programs addressing homelessness in North Beach.
Pathway for Kids, Director
Claudine works with program’s staffs on identifying community and public support for the mentorship program serving inner city youths.
Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Trustee
As member of the Board of Trustees for 10 years, Claudine developed and instituted the Community Advisory Council, a forum for community stakeholders to give advice on need assessment and best approaches to providing community benefits. Many new initiatives have been implemented through the years, including a clinic at Glide Memorial Church.
Organization of Chinese Americans, former National President & Building Fund Campaign Chair
As the first West Coast resident to be elected the National President of OCA, Claudine led a successful campaign advocating for the issuance of a series of Lunar New Year commemorative stamps issued by the United States Postal Service. More recently, Claudine led a capital campaign that resulted in the purchase of a building and establishment of a new headquarters in Washington, D.C. Over the years, Claudine has also worked with many of OCA’s corporate partners to develop educational and civic engagement programs.
A&PI Wellness Center, Leadership Council
As a member of the Leadership Council, Claudine works with the Center’s staffs to enhance media and public awareness of HIV/AIDS health and education issues as well as securing support for those programs.
Bay Area World Trade Center, Director and Board Chair
Claudine led the efforts to institute annual events to raise funds for the Center’s trade counseling and educational programs. She was also a leading voice advocating for a Bay Area regional approach to promote trade and commerce. In 1998, Claudine was instrumental in planning the international conference of the World Trade Center Association which was held on the West Coast for the first time.
Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation, Director and Chair
During her term of service, Claudine increased visibility of this historic preservation project throughout the country, laying the foundation for the successful application for designating the site as a national historic landmark and subsequent funding for restoration.
Charity Cultural Services Center, Advisor
Over the years and as a director and board chair, Claudine worked closely with the Center’s staffs to identify new funding mechanisms as well as public-private partnerships to support the Center’s job training and placement programs for new immigrants.
California World Trade Commission
During her term of service, Claudine was actively engaged in developing policies to attract businesses and investments to California as well as promoting global business opportunities for California companies.
California Housing Finance Agency
As a Trustee of the Agency, Claudine oversaw policies and programs that would create opportunities for first time homebuyers.
San Francisco Election Task Force on Redistricting
As a member of the Task Force, Claudine was part of the decision making body that redrew the local election district lines to conform with the 2000 Census.
